Transport works closely with, and is managed by,
Lutterworth Volunteer Centre. LCT operates a fleet
of four minibuses and one wheel-chair accessible car
which are available to members of the public and
groups to hire. Alongside this, the social car
scheme, CarLink, has approximately 65 drivers who
provide their own vehicles and drive on a voluntary
The services provided
rely very heavily on the volunteers who give their
time (and use of their vehicles) for the benefit of
the local community. Although drivers are reimbursed
for their expenses, no other reward or salary is

Although charges are
made for use of Lutterworth Community Transport
services, these are subsidised by
Leicestershire County Council and others such as the
Big Lottery Fund. Funding for vehicles also comes
