Lutterworth & District Citizens Advice Bureau
was founded by local people in 1985. In 2004, it merged with Market Harborough
and Blaby Bureaux to form part of South Leicestershire Citizens Advice Bureau.
It is a registered charity with a Trustee Board.
The
Bureau is delighted to be part of the One
Stop Shop at Wycliffe House, Lutterworth,
working alongside other voluntary agencies
in the district.
Citizens Advice Bureau provides free,
confidential, independent and impartial advice and information to anyone on any
subject, including housing, employment, debt, social security benefits,
discrimination, legal problems, immigration and nationality, tax, consumer
rights, family and personal issues and local information.
We also collect (anonymously) evidence of
client?s difficulties with such things as benefits agencies administration,
pressure selling to change gas and electricity suppliers, the lack of local
legal resources, harassment by creditors, racial harassment, rogue traders,
employers? failure to pay what they owe, and much more. This information enables
Citizens Advice nationally to achieve real change and to conduct effective
lobbying.
The Lutterworth Citizens Advice Bureau team
consists of a small number of paid staff and around seventeen volunteers. At
present, these consist of ten fully trained advisors, five trainees and three
administration and reception staff who together provide almost ninety hours of
voluntary assistance per week. New volunteers are always welcome.
Our opening hours are shown above. Home
visits can be arranged for housebound clients.
